Designer Showcase: Equipment Femme

AS WE enter into spring, expect a VARIETY OF NEW STYLES FROM ONE OF OUR FAVORITE LINES, EQUIPMENT FEMME

HERE IS THE STORY OF THE LINE'S INCEPTION....

"BACK IN 1975, WOMEN'S FASHION WAS ON A ROLL, DRIVEN BY A FLOURISHING YET CAUTIOUS READY-TO-WEAR INDUSTRY. SMOCKS, BLOUSES AND TUNICS WERE ALL THE RAGE... A FLURRY OF SILHOUETTES THAT CHRISTIAN RESTOIN INTRODUCED MEN'S SHIRTS INTO WOMEN'S WARDROBES WITH THE LAUNCH OF HIS BRAND EQUIPMENT - TRANSFORMING A MEN'S CLASSIC INTO A ITEM OF WOMEN'S CLOTHING WITH GLAM APPEAL.

STRAIGHTFORWARD YET INNOVATIVE, EQUIPMENT, CHARACTERIZED BY ITS REFINED TAILORING AND TIMELESS APPEAL, QUICKLY BECAME A RECOGNIZED NAME AMONGST THE FASHION ELITE. DRAWING HIS INSPIRATION FROM AMERICAN FILMS OF THE 50S, FROM STARS SUCH AS KATHERINE HEPBURN AND LAUREN BACALL (WHO BECAME ONE OF HIS CLIENTS): THE MENSWEAR INSPIRED SHIRTS BECAME A WORLDWIDE SUCCESS.

COMMITTED TO MAINTAINING THE QUALITY AND SIMPLICITY OF THE BRAND, RESTOIN CHOSE TO SPECIALIZE IN SHIRTS AND NOTHING BUT SHIRTS, - LETTING THE PRODUCT SPEAK FOR ITSELF RATHER THAN LABORING UNDER DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR. BUT AFTER ENJOYING TWENTY YEARS OF THE BRANDS SUCCESS, RESTOIN MOVED ON, WISHING TO PURSUE ANOTHER PHASE OF HIS CAREER.

TODAY, SERGE AZRIA, A VISIONARY AND WELL KNOWN NAME IN THE INDUSTRY, WHO ALSO OWNS THE SUCCESSFUL FASHION LINES JOIE AND CURRENT/ELLIOTT, IS RE-LAUNCHING THE ILLUSTRIOUS BRAND AS CEO AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR.

THE NEW COLLECTION RECALLS THE CLASSIC, MINIMALISTIC UNDERTONES OF THE EQUIPMENT BRAND, FUSING FRENCH SOPHISTICATION WITH AN AIR OF EFFORTLESSLY CHIC, LAID-BACK, CALIFORNIA STYLE. TIMELESS AND INNOVATIVE, THE COLLECTION FEATURES MODERN ANDROGYNOUS SILHOUETTES, DISCREET SEXINESS, LUXE FABRICS, UNEXPECTED DETAILS AND FEMININE RIFFS ON MEN'S SHIRTING.

THE RANGE OF PRINTS, FABRICS AND SILHOUETTES NEGOTIATE THE MANY FACETS OF THE EQUIPMENT WOMAN: SHE IS STRONG, CHIC, ELEGANT, ADVENTUROUS, SEXY AND IS ABOVE ALL, CLASSIC.

Get excited for the new spring styles of equipment blouses, coming soon to gavin!!

Designer Showcase: We Are Owls

Contemporary scarf line, We Are Owls, was designed to go beyond accessorizing and practicality, and becomes a reflection of emotions. Emulating the birds of prey, We Are Owls brings us a sense of mystery and make their presence as alluring as it is chilling – as enchanted as it is haunting. The collection carries us into a fantastical world where the lines of distress and desire are blurred. Like its nearly silent counterpart, We Are Owls has caught us off-guard with a stunning collection of carefully developed printed scarves constructed with the finest of cashmere yarns.

Launching in Fall of 2010, We Are Owls was dreamt up by three friends who always put fashion and art in the same sentence.  Like the nocturnal owl, the founders find themselves awake at all hours of the night and embrace the beauty within dark obscurities.

When you look at the scarves, its almost as if the patterns express emotions or tell a story. If that sounds crazy, come see for yourself. Check out the We Are Owls now at GAVIN...
The True Love scarf features a combination of red, black, pastel blue, and ivory brush strokes.

The Owl Cage Scarf is a soft, cashmere-gauze scarf with frayed ends, features the image of an owl in a cage.

We Are Owls was featured in Elle.com this summer in their Ultimate Accessories shopping story. The We Are Owls scarf was chosen as one of the 17 best accessories for travel, sport, and more!

We Are Owls was also mentioned in Lucky Magazine as part of the "Lucky Breaks"

Even celebrities are catching on to We Are Owls. Blake Lively and the Kardashian sisters have been seen wearing these incomparable scarves.
